MASSACRE BY NATIVES
SAD.FATE OF A SETTLER AND HIS DAUGHTERS. Reeeivea October 23,9.35 p.m. SYDNEY, October 23. Advi rs from Noumea state that a vesiel which has arrived there from New Hebrides, reports that the. natives at Santo Island had massacred Mr Peter Greig and his two daughters, aged 16 and 17 years.
Mr Grei? was one of a number of whites w»o acquired blocks of land in the Uand.
