PEOPLE'S DAY. BY TELEC-iBAPH —i'BES.S ASSO VI VTION. NAPIER, October 22. The weather kept fine to-day for the People's Day of the Hawke's Bay A. and P. Society Spring Show, and there was a large attendance. The following are the additional championship awards.— Thoroughbred Sire, T. H. Lorry's Fusilier; Hack, Oswald Nelson's Montana; Shorthorn Cow, Douglas McLean's Rose. The silver trophy for most points in Silyer Wyandottes was won for the year by John Currie, of Wellington. The competitions to-day resulted as follows:—Machine Sheep-Shearing (points for number, quality, style, and handling sheep) : Pat Hokianga, 1; H. Hawkins, 2; Peeti, 3; Turatiga, 4. Fifty-nine entries. Machine Sheep-Shearing (a straight out go for speed only, three sheep): A. Hamei, smin 55sec, 1; Turanga, 2; Peeti, 3. Fifty-eight entries. Leaping Match for Ponies: J. A. Blair's Wee McGregor, 1; Miss MacKersey'a Nobby, 2; Miss Grace Twist's Tim, 3. Fourteen entries Turning Competition, C. C. Giblin, 1; A. Alexander 2; W. C. A. MacKenzie, 3. Sixteen entries. Leaping Match: J. H. MacNiven's Pickpocket, 1; C. Hart's Playboy, 2; H. E. Troutbeck's Pirate, 3. Twenty entries.
