MELBOURNE, October 22

Sir John Forrest'c- amendment was lost by 01 to 7, and as Mr Reid's motion was emasculated by the omission of certain words to provide for Sir John Fitrrest'a amendment, the censure motion lapsed.

Following a meeting of the Opposition Corner party, Sir Jonn Forrest (formerly F<de.r;:l Tieasurer in the Deakin Government) moved an amendment to Mr Rein's motion traver.-ing the Budget proposal?, to the effect that such proposals be considered in committee on Wednesday next.
