HAWKE'S BAY SHOW.

By Telegraph —Press Association. NAPIER, October.2l. The Spring Show of the Hawke's Bay A. and. P Society opened at Hastings to-day. There were showers in the morning, but the rain cleared away in the afternoon. There are more horses, cattle and sheep exhibited than for some years past. The following is a list of competitions:—Champions: Draught Sire, J. D. Mitchell's Knight of Waihi; draught mare, Hon J. D. Hassall's Froha equal 1, Miss Mason's Rajah 3 (twenty-three entries) ; ladies' driving competition, Tutiakitai's The Monkey, Miss Couper's Dolly Varden 2 (thirteen entries); hunters' jumping, E. Short's Blue Ribbon, F. A. Piper's Haerekimoa 2, W. C. A. Mackenzie's Wheraroa 3 (twenty-two entries). The sheep-shearing set down for the first day did not take place owing to the wetness of the sheep, and was adjourned till to-morrow.
