A SERIES OF ACCIDENTS. Received October 20, 10.40 a.m. SYDNEY October 20. During the bicycle races at Bathurst, in connection with the Eight Hour celebration, a series of accidents occurred. G. H. Horder, the State champion, was badly injured, and Summers (the New Zealander) hau several ribs broken. THE WAIRUNA-MINTARO COLLISION. Received October 20, 10.40 a.m. SYDNEY, October 20. A survey of the Union Company's steamer Wairuna, which collided with the steamer Mintaro in Sydney harbour, shows that nine plates were dented, reaching below the waterline. It is expected that four or five will have to be replaced. TRADE RETURNS. Received October 20, 10.40 a.m. MELBOURNE, October 20. Australian exports to China decreased by £27,377 last year, while Chinese exports toAustralia increased by £19,219. The falling off in the Australian exports does not represent the true position, as quantities of goods enter China via Hongkong.
A MURDERER REPRIEVED. Received October 20, 10 .40 a.m. HOB ART, October 20. Hudson, who murdered Adolph Bock, has been reprieved. As the result of a quarrel, Hudson shot a girl named Bradley in the back, and clubbed Bock, her brother-in-law, fracturing the latter's skull and jaw. The girl did not die. OBITUARY. Recived October 20, 11.47 p.m. ADELAIDE, October 20. The death is anounced of V. L. Solomons, a member of the Assembly.
