THE CAULFIELD CARNIVAL. Recieved October 10, 8 p.m. CAULFIELD, October 10. There was fine weather for the Spring Carnival. Results:— Debutant Handicap Mala 1, Apple Pie 2, Barm 3. Won by a length. Time, sUsec. Stakes—Pink-'Un 1, Post Town 2, Tulkeroo 3. Won by two and a-half lengths. Time, lmin 56Jsec. Steeplechase —Boisdale 1, Warfield 2, Findowrie a. Won by five lengths. Time, 3min 57»}sec. Mayo and Melinite both fell and were killed. Guineas —Parsee 1, Allawa 2, Bobby 3. Bobby led to thenar turn, where he was overhauled by Parsee, who led into the straight, and won with plenty to spare by one and ahalf lengths. Time, lmin 42isec. Toorak Handicap—Soultline 1, Enchantur 2, Carl Dour 3. Bobby and Soultline led round the turn by three lengths from Enchantur. Soultline finally won comfortably by two lengths. Time, lmin 42| sec.

fßy Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, October 10. Weights for the Poverty Bay Club's meeting, were issued a week early by mistake, and have been officially withdrawn. TARATA HI-CARTERTON RACING CLUB. annual meeting. The annual meeting of the Tara-tahi-Carterton Racing Club is an event that is always looked forward to with the keenest interest by sportsmen generally, not only in the Wairarapa, but other parts as well. The next meeting is elsewhere announced to take place on November 9th and 10th, at the Clareville racecourse. In view of the coming meeting considerable improvements have been made for the better accommodation at the course for the general public and members of the Club. A firstclass programme thas been arranged, and the stakes show a considerable increase in value. The officers of the Club deserve a considerable amount of credit for the enterprise they have shown- The nominations for all races (except Guineas, Trial Plate and Scurry) will close on Friday, October 23rd, 1908, at 9 p.m. The name of the racehorse Loiret was omitted from the Masterton Cup nominations in Saturday's is3ue.
