MASTERTON THURSDAY CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. The sixth annual meeting of the Masterton Thursday Cricket Association was held last evening. There were present:—Messrs A. Caselherg (in the chair), A. H. Rothenberg (W.F.C.A.), A. C- Feast, V. Fairbrother (Carterton), G. Thynne, W. Clarke (Rivals), F P. Welch (Carlton). The annual report and balance sheet was read ana adopted. The report expressed thanks to Messrs W. B. Chennells, A. W. Hogg, M P., and W. H. L. Galvvey tor donations, which enabled the Association to liquidate its liabilities. A regret was expressed in the report that Thursday Clubs (excepting the Carllon) did not assist in the preparation of the match wicket, and a suggestion made that non-assisting clubs should contribute a small sum toward that object Mr E. Collinge was specially mentioned for the manner in which he had kept the batting and bowling records. Mr H. C. Swan (Carlton) won the bowling average with an average of 5.20, Mr Moss (Carlton) being runner-up with 5.80. Ths latter also won the batting average with 32.60, Mr R. Phelps being runner-up with 23.57. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr D. Caselberg for a presentation bat for the best all-round player of Thursday cricket. It was resolved to present the bat to Mr Moss.

The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr W. B. Chennells (re-elected); President, Mr W. H. L. Galwey (re-elected) ,* Vice-Presidents, Messrs A. W. Hogg, M.P., W. C. Buchanan, L). Caselherg A. C. Major. A. Henderson, T. Porter, T. E. Maunsell and Dr. Covvie, Secretary and Treasurer, Mr F. P. Welch (re-elected); Auditar, Mr G. W. Sellar. . It was decided that as only eight delegates were on the committee, live should form a quorum instead of seven as previously.

It v/as resolved that nominations for the committee close on the 14th inst., on which date a committee of three representatives of the "Masterton CJubs shall meet to consider the same, and to draw up fixtures for the Cup contests. The secretary was instructed to' write to the Wellington Wednesday Association asking the latter to fix a date for the return match to , be played in Wellington this season. Considerable discussion took place over the preparation of wickets, and it was finally deckled to draw the attention of club members to the'fact that they must do their share of the work when matches are to be played.
