A FATAL PANIC.
GROUNDLESS ALARM OF FIRE. FORTY-EIGHT PERSONS KILLED,
Received October 7, y a.m. VIENNA, October 6. A groundless alarm of fire caused a panic among 3.000 persons in the Synagogue at Maramaros Sziget, in Hungary. Forty-eight were killed and many injured in the crush at the only exit.
