THE AUSTRALIAN GAME. Received October 5, 10 a.m. ADELAIDE, October 5. The West Adelaides (the premier team of South Australia) defeated the Carltons, (the premier team of Victoria) by 12 goals 9 behinds (81 points) to 7 goals 10 behinds (52 points), securing the championship of Australia for the Australian game.
TOUR OF THE "WALLABIES."
an accident. Received October 5, 8.12 a.m. LONDON, October 4. In the match Australians v. Cornwall, Mr P. Flanagan, of Queensland, who was acting as touch judge, had his leg broken badly through ' Russell (of Newton, New South Wales), when tackled, being thrown against him.
The Australian team are distinctly unfortunate. While the team were in the Red Sea, C. E. Murnin caught a chill, and had to be sent home from Naple3. Later P. H. Burge, had one of his legs broken in the match against Devon, and now Flanagan has also broken a leg.
