INDUSTBIAL COURT JUDGMENT. SYDNEY, October 3. The Industrial Court judgment in the .claim of the Merchant Service Guild against the coastal steamship companies for better pay and improved working conditions, has been given. It awards increased pay to masters and officers, but not to the extent demanded, and also to some extent varies the working conditions of the award. The Court declines to concede preference to guild members. The president of the Court' incidentally declared the strike .against the coastal companies illegal.
