METEOROLOGICAL.
Mr W. F. Day, Brooklyn; Gladstone, reports as follows:—The following is the rainfall report for September:—Only 96 points fell on 12 days. The maximum fall was 18 points on the 19th; and the minimum was 10 points on the 11th and 22nd. The rainfall for September last year was 3.05 inches on 12 days. Mr S. Mawley, Ditton, reports:— The rainfall for September was 1.90 in. The rainfall since January Ist amounts to 31.41, which is over 9 inches below the average for the corresponding period for 27 years, and no less than 22 inches below the first 9 months of 1907.
By Telegraph—Press Association. The following is Captain Edwin's weather forecast to 3 p.m. to-morrow: —Easterly strong winds to gale at most places northward of East Cape, Taupo and Raglan generally, with rain northerly. Moderate to strong everywhere else, and there are indications for rain from Raglan southward to Napier, Lyttelton and Hokitika, falling barometer generally.
