SINKING OF THE ARGONAUT. COOLNESS OF PASSENGERS. Received October 1, 8.30 a.m. LONDON, September 30. Later particulars in connection with the sinking of the tourist steam yacht Argonaut, after colliding with the collier Kingswell during a fog in the Channel, show that the tourists had many thrilling experiences. An apalling disaster was narrowly averted owing to the proximity of the rescuing vessels, the fact that there was a full provision of boats aboard the Argonaut, the splendid discipline shown by the crew, and the great coolness of the ! passengers; alao that the occurrence took place in the daytime. The Argonaut's passengers, including fitty ladies, were breakfasting when the collision occurred. They were instantly transferred to the boats. The Argonaut foundered within twenty minutes of the collision. The passengers were j'taken aboard the Kingswell, which had to be beached owing to the injuries she had sustained. Another vessel rescued the passengers, conveying them to Dover.
