Danrie, (S-joeral Manager the Tourist Kejaartmosit Dear Sir, —I haive to acknowledge receipt of your letter, dated 18th instant, ira which you make an ajapiication for a grant of £SO from Uhas Department towards contemplated improvement® to Mt. iHoldsworth tout ar/d track, and in reply to inform you that your application has come too late for consideration on thjs year's .estimates, the Supplementary Estimates having already been completed " jGpr presentation'to Parliament. The sum of £2O ie, however, .provided for on the Public Works 'Estimates for ' tourist roadp, and this sum will probably be available in November next. I have been informed by vieitors to Mt. >Ho]dsworth that it <vould be an advantage to have a notice erected indicating where fyresh water may fee obtained, as they experienced little idiifisulty in locating it before dark, and I submit matter for c9n»jder?tiw of your Committee,"
