ißy Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, September 29. A somewhat peculiar case came before. Mr Kettle, S.M.; at the Police Court this afternoon, when Agnes Sarah Fleming, tot whom Mr McVeigh appeared, was ordered to pay 7s 6d per week towards the maintenance of her husband, Andrew Fleming, who", it was claimed, was a destitute person. Theidefence contended that the applicant was not' a destitute person, being quite able to perform light employment, while it was claimed, on the other hand, that he could not get work, and that his wife, who had property worth £3,500, should support him.
