Mr Ji3tica Simpson uttered a ■sfcrons: protest in the Divorce Court •at Sydney a few days ago against "marriage-phops " The occasion of his remarks was ths evidence by two petitioners who had been married at one of these places. 'lhey appeared to be unaware of the rites according to which they bad been married. Onehazardid the opi-iion that the service was that of tne "New Utarian," Church, and the other that the rites wire those of tne Greek Church. Several persona who were registered as having authority to •perform the ceremony of marriage hadnothaJ their registration renewed, yet he still saw their advertisements appaaring in the newspapers. Ha supposed they had deputies who performed ceremonies. The Registrar-General had done all he could, and so had the Supreme Court.
