PERSONAL.
Miss C. Parson has been appointed sole teacher at Mangaone school. . Dr. Barllett, of Eketahuna, has disposed of his practice to Dr. Jamieaop, of Collingwood. Dr. Bartlett intends residing in Sydney, where he will practice his profession. Mr and Mrs H. H. Wolters and Misi Wolters. of Carterton, who have been on an extended tour to the Fiji Islands, are expected to arrive back in Carterton on Thursday evening next. Mr A. D. Gillies, Manager of the Masterton Abattoirs, has returned fro n his holiday in the South Island, and resumed his duties at the works yesterday. Mr C. Ashton, of the Head Office of the Slock Department, who has been relieving Mr Gillies, has returned to Wellington. At a special meeting of the Masterton Municipal Band, held last evening, Mr M. K. Varnham, the retiring conductor, was made a presentation of a silver-mounted walking stick by the members, as a token of esteem. Reference was made to the excellent manner in which Mr Varnham had carried out his duties as conductor. Mr Varnham suitably replied.
