WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—Our fortnightly sale was held on Friday, when we offered a large catalogue of skins, hides and calfskins, and a few bales of wool, also a quantity of tallow, horns, hair, etc. There was ke3n bidding from a large number of buyers at prices on a par with last sales rates; for skins and hides the prices were slightly lower except for calfkins, whicft sold at exceptionally good prices:— We qiiote— Wool: Crutchings, medium, 31d to 3£d per lb; crutchings, heavy and seedy, ljd to 2ld; crossbred fleeces, stragglers, 4Jd, to sd. Skins—Half and fine crossbred, 5Jd to 6Jd, medium and coarse crossbred, 4Jd to 5Jd; pelts, 2Jd to SJd; damaged skins, Id to Hides—Ox, medium to sd; ox, light; 4|dto 4fd; cow, 3|d to 4Jd; damaged, 2d to ad: calf, sound, 6d to 7Jd; caif, damaged, 2d to 43d. 'i'albw—Mixed beef end mutton, 23s ta 2ii 9d per cwt.; in tins and odd jnckagds, 20s to 22s 9d per cwt. 3lordihiir, bones, cowtails, etc., at satisf ictory prices. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held their fortnightly sale of wool, -skins, hides and tallow on Friday, 25th instant, when a fair catalogue of all classes was submitted to a good attendance of buyers. They report as follows:—Wool: Only oddments offering. Inferior crutchings realised 2Jd to 3d per lb. Sheepskins: Market firm at last sale rates. Fine croisbred Bid td 6d; crossbred, 4Jd to 5Jd; crossbred, shorts, damaged, 2£d to 3|d; crossbred, dead, 3sd to 4d; lambskins, 8d each; crossbred, damp, ,3s lOd to 4s ltd each; crossbred, salted, 2s lid to 3s 9d; tine crossbred, salted, 4 a 2d. Hides: Market firm at last sale rates. No prime lots offering. Ox, 51 to 681b,i45d to s§d; cut .and slippy, 3Jd to 3|d per lb; cow, 37 to 491b, 4|d; cut and slippy, 3£d to 3Jd per lb; steer, 281b, 4d per lb; bull, dry, 2d per lb;, slag, 3|d to 3*d per lb; yearlin.T, 12 to 191b, 4Jd; cut, 121b, 2Jd; calf, best, 6|d to 7d; medium, s£d;cutand inferior, 4|d to 4gd. TalloW: In drums, 203 3d to 20s 6d per cwt.; in tins, 21s 3d to 22s 9d per cwt.; rough fat, 15s 3d per cwt. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report as follows regarding Friday's sale:—We offered 35 babs woo 1 , 2.000 sicins, 500 hiies and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool: Thsre was strong competition at last sale prices. We quots— Med-iu-n cro33bred, 4d to SJJ; inferior, 2.1 to 4d; lambs wool, 4d to sd; pieces and locks, Id to 3Jd; good crutch hies, 3&d to 3|d; medium crutchings, 3Jd to 3Jd; seedy and inferior, lid to 2|d. Skins: No ch?nge to recorJ. We quote—Fine cros.Hbreds, 5d to 6d; crossbred, 4d to sd; dead skins, 2d to 3|d; dead hag?ets, 2dto3fd; dry pelts, Id to, 2id; lamb skins, 5d each; green skins, 2s 6d to 4s 9J each. Tallow: Firm, Parcels in shipping order, £J3; tins, £lB to £2l 10s; rough fat, £lO to £l3. Horsehair: Is to Is 3d per lb. Horns: 5s to 17s 6d per hundred. Cowtails: Is 4d tolsßd, per dozen. Hides—We brought forward a largo catalogue of hides, which were sold at last quotation.
