MASTERTON CLUB... MEN)S CHAMPIONSHIP. The final for the men's championship between VV. H. Booth and J. Steel, played on Saturday, was won by the former by 11, up 9 to play, over 36 holes. Past winners of the championship an as follow : 1901— W. M. Lambie. 1902 J. C. Bidwill. 1903 J. C. Bidwill. 1904 J. A. Sellar. 1905—A. B. Lawrence. 1906—A. B. Lawrence. 1907-C. C. Cox. 1908— W. H. Booth. JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. In the semi-final round, N. H. James beat B. Booth, 3 up 2 to play; and E. B. Waddington beat F. Winter, 5 up 3 to play. The final between N. H. James and E. B. Waddington will be played next Saturday. LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP. The first round of tha ladies' championship is to be played next Saturday. The following are the drawings:— Mrs J. 8., Henry plays Mrs G. C. Williams; Miss G. Booth plays MibS E. Robieson; Miss Holmes plays Mm H. Booth. Miss J. Robieson, Miss K. Booth, Mrs W. P. PAHIATUA v. MASTERTON.
The match on Saturday last between Masterton and Pahiatua re suited in a win for Masterton by seven matches to two. The individual matches were as follow, Masterton players being mentioned first in each instance : A. B. Lawrence beat Rev. Marshall, 6 up 5 to play. C. C. Cox beat J. 0. Lilly, 4 up 2 to play. A. Bewley beat H. McSherry, 1 up. W. H. L Galwey lost to G. H. Smith, 2 down 1 to play. G. G. Aitken lost to W. J. Collins, 3 down 2 to play. A. E. Booth beat J. G. Swainson, 4 up 2 to play. W. P. Jumes beat E. B. Hare, 2 up. A. C. Paul beat W. E. Collins, 4 up 2 to play. C. Perry beat P. L. Hicks, 7' up 5 to play.
NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP
By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, September 26. The final of the New Zealand Amateur Golt Championship was played to-day, and waa won by H. C. Smith (Otago), who beat Lusk by S up and 1 to play, after an interesting game.
AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, September 27. The final of the Auckland Golf Club's championship was played at One Tree Hill Links to-day over a 36hole course, when Leather beat Colbeck by two up and one to play.
