MASTERTON INVESTMENT AND BUILDING SOCIETY.
The following is the thirty-second annual report of the Masterton Permanent Investment and Building Society, to be presented to shareholders at the annual meeting of the Society, to be huld in the Society's offices, on Monday, October sth, at 3.30 p.m.:— In submitting their balance-sheet for the year ended August 31st, 1908, the directors have pleasure in reporting that the business o£ the Society has been well maintained, and that the percentage of profit is slightly , in excess of last year's figures, 8.89 as against 8.76. j The total loans at the close of the year amounted to £53,023 13s 6d, an increase of £1,773 6s 9d, as compared with last year. The permanent capital of the Society was further increased in March last by the issue of 250 fully paid up £lO shares, which were promptly tu-jscribed at a premium of £1 per ahai e. Tnd directors retiring by rotation at t annual meeting are Messrs J. itoddington and F. C. Lewis, both "uf-whom are eligible for re-election. Thjrj are no other candidates.
