FEDERAL POLITICS.
ADDRESS-IN-REPLY ADOPTED. MATTERS OP FINANCE. Received September 23, 10.10 a.m. ' MELBOURNE, September 23. The Federal House adopted the Ad-dress-in-Reply to the GovernorGeneral's speech. The Government were pressed by Messrs Irving and Watson to give some indication as to how they intended to finance che various commitments undertaken. The present outlook in regard to finances was, they urged, serious, and there waa little prospect of obtaining more Customs revenue during the next two and a-half years than they were at present obtaining.
