TELEPHONE COMMUNICATION.

As a result of the continuous telephone service recently established in the local office, telephone communication between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. from Tuesdays to Fridays, and from 9 p.m. Un Saturdays till 8 a.m. on Mondays is now obtainable with Napier, Hastings, Auckland and Gisborne, arrangements having been made for the use of the telegraph lines after telergaphic business is closed. Telephonic communication between Masterton and Wanganui is obtainable from 8 p.m. till 8 a.m.
