A FATAL QUARREL.

TRAGEDY AT BALLARAT. WIFE SHOT BY HER HUSBAND. Received September 21, 9.35 a.m. MELBOURNE, September 21. A tragedy is reported from Ballarat. A man named Cartledge, while under the influence of liquor, had a violent quarrtl with his wife. The husband had a revolver in his hand, and during a struggle the woman was shot. The wound was fatal. Cartledge claims that the revolver accidentally exploded while his wife was t-'ying to wrench it away from him.
