Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in each of the follow- c ing debt cases with costs:— Hendry c and Buxtun v. Dan F'lynn, claim £lO 4s 2d, costs £1 6s 6d; Hugh Rea v. * Jamea Bentley, claim £1 4s, costs ss; Borough Council v. R. E. Howell, claim £23 Is 2d, costs £1 33; Same v v. Frederick Winter, claim £3 2s 2d, c costs sa; Sarah Clarke v. Charles £ Cunclitfe, claim £2 14s, costs 10s; s Elizabeth A. Hunter v. Alexander Wm. Birs's and Gertrude Beatrice 1 Birss, claim £ll 3s 4d, costs £1 13s * 6d; Borough Council v. Neils Neil- * son, claim £2 5s Bd, costs ss; Hallen- f stein Bros. v. Basil Keith, claim 10s 5 6d, costs 53; New Zealand Loan and 1 Mercantile Co. v. James Hodder, ' claim £7 Is 3d, costs £1 7s 6d; John ] Kite Blinkhorne v. Basil Keith, 1 claim £2 lfis, costs 10s; William 1 Cullen v. William Morris, claim 13s, costs ss; Andrews and Rishworth v. Bert Sevvell, claim £6 6s, costs i £1 3s 6d. In the judgment summons case of Olds and Anderson v. H. Hurndell, ; a claim for £3 10s, defendant was ordered to pay forthwith, "in default seven days' imprisonment. The order was suspended for a week. No order was made in the case of Sydney Scott v. John A. Lawson, a claim for £29 Is sd, after hearing the evidence of defendant. DEFENDED CASES. In a case Patrick Carr (Dr Trimble) v. Thos. Williams and Hukana | Tamaki (Mr Pownall), a claim for £49 18s lid, on account stated, judgment was given for £42 13s lid, with £5 13s c<ssts. Benge .and Garrett (Dr Trimble) sued Collie and Company (Mr Pownall) for £2O 18s 3d, on account of firewood delivered. Judgment was given for £l7 ss, with £1 Court Ann L. Fabian (Mr Pownall) sued Goldbloom Bros., for £4, value of material supplied to defendants to make into a costume, and which she alleged was spoilt by a misfit. The case was adjourned to allow defendants to make alterations to the attire. GOOD TASTE IN MILLINERY.
