RANGITIKEI RACES. BT TBIiBORAPH —PKES6 ASSOCIATION. BULLS, September 16. The weather was wet for the opening day of the Rangitikei Racing Club's meeting. The course was very heavy. Results:— Flying Handicap Toa Tuhi 1, Illustrious 2, Tuatahi 3. All started. Won by a length. Time, Imm 18 4-ssec. Willow Bank Steeplechase—Clarabelle 1, Kurahui 2, Whimper 3. Scratched —Janella, and Izard. Mooshen, Concussion, Speciosa and Ballance fell The latter stumbled at the last fence when leading. Won easily. / Time, smin 12 3-ssec. Pukeohau Hack Hurdles—Paparaehe 1, Lyrist 2, Papatawa 3. ' Scratched—Dane, D'nil. and Arahura. Won easily by a length. Time, 3min 1 2-ssec. Maiden Handicap—Th9 Saint 1, Wimmera 2, Notorious 3. Also started—Maori Rifle, Pieaides, Flyaway, Mquntain Melody, Roosevelt, Charge, Marutoa and Alma. Won by a short head. Time, 51 3-ssec. Rangitikei Steeplechase —r JBullworth 1, Starlight 2, Janella 3. Scratched—Mooshen. A fine race., Won by half a length. Time, 6min 10 4-ssec. Spring Handicap-- Glenullin 1, Mahuta 2, Golden Gate 3. Scratched —lrish Rifle, Sandstream, and Gaelic. Won easily by two lengths. Time, 2min 4 3-ssec. Rangitoto Hack Royal Maid 1, Thaler 2, Windage 3. Scratched— Crucinella and Grand Rapid. Won by half a head. Time, lmin 37 l-ssec. Twelve bookmakers paid £ls 10s each. The totalifator receipts amounted to £3,371, as against £6,214 for the corresponding day of the last spring meetine.
