OPAKI-LANSDOWNE WATER SUPPLY SCHEME.
The visit to Mastercon to-morrow of Dr. J. P. Frengley and Mr G. LaingMeason in connection with the OpakiLansdowne water supply scheme will be an important matter to residents interested in the schemes which Mr Laing-Meason proposes to carry out. Until that engineer has himself said that the scheme he intends to put into operation is materially different to that which he reported upon in 1905, the County Council and the Health authorities are not justified in proceeding further in the matter, in the light of the latter's own official observations. In any event it appears that two schemes have been combined in one which would have been better kept eeparare. Irrigation races for stock are not desirable for householJ high-pressure water services, for obvious reasons. The official conference may bring out some interesting points in connection with the schemes. *
