MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
(ORDINARY . MEETING.
ITbe ordinary meeting of the Mas-i-teiton Borough Council was held last night. There were present:—The f.Mayor (Vr P. L. Hollings), and Cra 'W.Morris, J. Prentice, J. Elliott, J. €. Ewington, J. Hunter, J. Yarr, W. .Pragnell, i. Pauling and A. Haughey. In connection wuh an application otrom the Wairarapa and East Coast A. and P. Society asking that a holiday be proclaimed irom 11 a.m. •on October 29th, the date of their Show, it was decided to refer the same to the Holiday Committee. It was decided to make a refund on the amount paid by Messrs R. E. Howell and Company for the unexpired term of an auctioneer's license, provided that a guarantee is givsn that the license shall not .be further used. On behalf of the managers of Knox Cnurch a request was granted for a one inch water service, to be used in connection with a large organ to be driven by hydraulic power. .«.•» ££. Y arr m oved that the word:! in standing order number 11 be suspended for one month, "and no tuch resolution be acted upon after any lio.ticd' of motion 'u given to rescind such resolution ..until such motion is decided by the Council or Committee." (Speaking in support of the potion Cr Yarr stated that his object was to present any new notice of motion preventing applications being called ior a town clerk and borougn engineer, ps decided upon by the Council. —The motion was tarried.
