NEW PARLIAMENT BUILDINGS.
COMMITTEE'S REPORT., BY TELSGEAFH—PKESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, September 1«T The report of the Building of Parliament House Committee was presented to the House of Representatives this afternoon. In the opinion of the Committee, the new Parliament Buildings and new LibraryBuilding should be erected on the Government House site, and that the Molesworth Street site, including those portions of the old Parliament ary Buildings not destroyed by fire, should be utilised for departmental buildings and offices, and the old Parliamentary lawn tennis ground as a sito for a museum building; the Lambton Quay'block to be eventually leased to the public in building allotments. The Committee point out that the arrangements thus proposed will entail the necessity for providing a new site for Government House. The report is signed by Sir W. J. Steward. Mr W. F. Massey, Leader of the Opposition, said the members should have time to consider the report and evidence. Sir J. G. Ward said that there was no need to rush matters. He moved that the discussion be taken next day. This was agreed to on the voices.
