MASTERTON CHORAL SOCIETY.

The Masterton Choral Society are fortunate in being able to give their first concert in conjunction with the tour of Mr and Mrs Charles Saunders. In the choral work undertaken, viz., "The May Queen," the demand upon the tenor and soprano soloist is a largo one. Mrs E. P. Wilson, of Wellington, has been specially engaged to sustain the soprano solo. Mr Saunders will sing the opening solo "0 meadow clad in early green," a Simple and pleasing melody; later the tenor and soprano soloists are heard in a very fine duet "Can I not find thee," and again in a trio "The ha*vthorn in the glade," and in several concerted passages with the chorus, including the beautiful finale, the line hunting song of Robinhood, will be sung by Mr F. J. Hunn, the Masterton basso. In a short miscellaneous programme preceding "The May Queen," Mr Saunders will sing the popular ballad "Come into the garden, Maud," and "My Pretty Jane." Miss Clara Robson will sing "Culler Ilernn" and "Darby and Joan." Mr E. P. Wilson will also contribute a song. The chorus will number about eighty performers. The box plan is open at Miss Rive's.
