THEATRICAL TREASURER DISAPPEARS. WARRANT ISSUED FOR ARREST. Received September 14, 9.58 a.m. SYDNEY, September 14. A warrant has been issued for the arrest ot Livingstone, treasurer for J. C. Williamson, the well-known theatricaJ manager. Livingstone has disappeared. Certain irregularities have been discovered in the accounts, involving a large amount.
SIR PERCY SCOTT'S SQUADRON. Received September 14, 9.58 a.m. MELBOURNE, September 14. The Federal Prime Minister(Mr Deakin) is making enquiries as to whether the cruiser squadron, which, under the command of Sir Percy Scott, is to visit South Africa, will be able to also visit Australia, and whether there is any likelihood of a vessel of the type of the American battleships accompanying the squadron. UNLAWFULLY TAKING PART IN A STRIKE. WHEELERS FINED. Received September 14, 9.58 a.m. SYDNEY, September 14. A number of wheelers,at the Bellnmbi colliery were fined a shilling each for unlawfully taking part in a strike. The f"ct that accused were leniently treated on the present occasion was emphasised by the court. COLD WEATHER IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Received September 15, 1 a.m. SYDNEY, September 14. The weather is cold and snow is ''ailing in the highlands.
