THE EDUCATION BILL.
There is a good deal of speculation as to the probable fate of the Education Bill, in consequence of the amendment carried by Mr Wilford, M.P., in favour of the uniformity of school books throughout the Dominion. Already several members who supported the member for Hutt have received communications from school teachers urging that they should not jeopardise the Bill by insisting on the inclusion of the new clause (which was read a second time).
