LADIES' HOCKEY TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph--Special Reportsr. WELLINGTON, September 12. The Nelson-WairarapH A match to day resulted i» a draw, there being no score. It was a splendid exhibi lion of hockey. The first' speil wai very even, but in the second Waira rapt lost two splendid chances to score. The match was played under protest by Waii*ara.)a. At present Nelson and Wairarapa A tie for second place. Nelson protested against the previous win secure J by Wairarapa A agai st them, the grounds being as follows: —It appears that the fixtures as originally drawn were altered, and Nelson, on the day of the match, found that they were pitted againsi WairaiapaA. They explained to the Association that they could not place, their full team in the held' at such sh«;rt notice, and would ur.ly play under protest. Subsequent))*, as arranged, they met Wairarapa and were beaten. They again brought their protest before the notice of the Association. It was not upheld, and the results of Friday's matches gave Wairarapa a one-point lead. Nelson protested again, and on the return to town from the Bay on Friday evening a committee meeting was held, anr the outcome was that the former d« eision was revoked. The Wairarapa girls have accepted this latest decision of the committee in a good spirit, and have prolonged their visit in order to satisfy the demands of Nelson and the conductors of the tournament. A meeting of the Masterton ladie>. team and emergenciea will.be held in the Y.M.O.A. Building at 7 o'clock this evening to discuss matters in connection with accommodating the Wanganui ladies team. (
