ACQUITTED.
A PARIS SENSATION. Received September 13. 4.30 p.m. \ PARIS, Septembpr 12. M. Gregori, who was charged with attempting to murder Major Dreyfus, has been acquitted. A cable gram from Paris on June 4th last fciated that in connection with the t> ansfer of the remains of M. Zola, the novelist, to the Pantheon. just on the close of the ceremony, when M. Fallierfs (the French President) and M. Clemenceau (the Premier) were shakirg hands with Madame Zola, a man fired \ o shots from a revolver, wounding Major Dieyfus in the wris\ Dreyfus' assailant was M. Gregori, military writer for the "Gaulois," and he was quickly arrested. Dreyfus' brother, Matthew, seized Gregcri, but, after securing hin , chivalrously stood between Gregori and the fury of the crowd, who attempted to lynch the assailant.
