DRY WOOL SCOURING.

AN INTERESTING EXHIBITION. The.Youla Wool Company invited a large number of farmers to attend the demonstration of their method of cleaning seedy and daggy wool by a patent dry process at tiieir works near the Kuripuni station. Those present were greatly surprised at the result. Seedy (or otherwise Hauthai) wool was bubmitted for treatment and it removed all the seeds, and produced a splendid sample of long, staple, clean wool. Daggs of the ■\ery worst description were treated with splendid results. It must be apparent to any sensible farmer to entertain the offer of the firm, as the base is a waste product, and now they can obtain a fair price for it, it behoves them to take a little trouble and bag them. At the same time, they are fostering a local industry which must ten i to benefit the place. The method is very simple, and one wonders how it is that it was never tnought ot before, being simply done by a tstrong current of air, caused by a revolving drum. A machine installed in large back-block stations could be worked by tho shearing engine, anl it wculd be invaluable. The company will ac all times be'pleased to show any person interested in wool, if application is made to the manager at Kuripuni.
