The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—At Pahiatua, on Tuesday, tna yarding wis fairly light, both in shaep and cattle, all, however, selling, rates showing no great improvement. At MastertDn, on Wednesday, we submitted a very small cata--1 jgue, our principal entries in sheep did not come forwar.l owing to the stormy morning. The offering was principally hoggets, all selling; no appreciable ris; being made, a fat* mainly due to the backwardness of feed, and the same remarks apply to cattle, of which there was a big entry, the bulk failing to sell. At Pahiatua, ewes and lambs made 16i 61, I ojgets 9s to 10s. At Maaterton —Hoggets, small, 9d to 7s 6J; medium, 9a 3d; dairy cows, best, to £$ 10 s ; heifers, 60s to 80s; yearlings, 20i to 263; weaner pigs, lis t:/l3s 6d. Messrs Dalgety and Cc., Ltd., report as follows;—We heki our fortnightly sale at the Ma3terfcon yards yciterJay, whe i we offend only a very few sheep, but had a very good yarding of caUle, which were v»rv hsrd to q.iit. But a good number of buyers were presant, and practically the whole yarding was sold. We quote:—bat ewes and wethers 13s lOd, 18-month steers and heifers 32s 6d, 12 and 18-month steers and heifers 22s 6d, 3 and 4-year steers passed ah £1 17s 6d. Dairy cows were well cmoated for, but buyers and sellers were wide of the murk, and very little business resulted. Our next sala will he held om Wednesday, September 23rd, when we will offer 25 3 and 4-year Shorthorn steers, and 25 3 and 4-year steers Polled and Hereford cross.
