I At Morison's Bush,, yesterday,. Mrs E. Gilliland, widow of the late Mr John D. Gilliland, was rr.arriedt to Mr E. B. Hawkins, of Moroa. I Mr Edward F. Yuile, one of the oldest and bast known bookmakers in New Zealand, died at his residence in Wellington on Tuesday, after an iim nesa of some months duration, states a Press Association telegram.. The deceased was. 67, years of age.. Mr Harris,, a well-known seltler at Masterton, who has, been spending: about two months in Australia, returned to Wellington yesterday by the Maheno. He inspected various parts of Queensland, and is, not, says the "Post," as enthusiastrc- as some other New Zealanders who, have also been through the districts which he visited. Prior to her departure for the Worser Bay School, at Wellington, Miss Olive Macfarlane was presented by the members of St. Andrew's Church choir (Carterton) with a handsomely bound Cnureh Hytnnary as a mark of esteem. The presentation way made by the Rev. L. Thompson, M.A., who, in a few well chosen words, said that the choir regretted Miss Macfarlane'a departure from Carterton. Reference to har many good qualities was also made by the Choirmaster (Mr W. Moore).
