Mr Deller, in laying before the visitors the claims of the district to the concession asked, said the Club possessed one hundred acres, which cost the Club £25 per acre, a total cost of £2,525, while the grandstand, erected two or three years ago, cost £1,400. This course would be preferable to taking away a permit from another club. Messrs Witty and McKenzie also spoke favourably to the granting of the request. After the speeches, refreshments, provided by the. Club, were partaken of in the grandstand booth, toasts being honoured and short speeches made. The party then left for Featherstun by the 10.30 train.
