LARGELY INCREASED CONSUMPTION PER HEAD. DECREASE IN SUNDAY DRUNKENNESS. Received September 8, 12.55 a.m. SYDNEY, September 7. Canon Boyce's annual review of the Drink Traffic shows that the bill for New South Wales, for 1907, totalled £5,200,744, equal to £3 6s lid per head of population, an increase of £552.068, or 5s 6d a head on the previous year. He attributes the increase to the prosperous times. The convictions for Sunday drunk enness were 781, compared with 318 for the year before the Local Option Bill became operative. The convictions for sly grog, Sunday and after hours selling have all declined.
