The match resulted in a draw, each,side scoring points. WELLINGTON v. MANAWATU. EASY WIN FOR WELLINGTON. . WELLINGTON,' September 6. The Wellington-Manawatu representative Rugby match way played :'n Wellington yesterday. The weather was dull. Rain fell in the morning sufficient to make the ground a little slippery, but though threatening the wea'her was fine for the match, which was witnessed by about two thousand persons. The game was too ridiculously one-sided to call for de- , scription, Wellington winning by 46 points to 5. Tries were obtained for Wellington by Rush (3), Matheson, Evenson (2), Shadbolt, Roberts, Hamilton, "Rangi" Wilson and McLeod. five being converted, while Roberta kicked a goal from a mark. Manawatu's score consisted of a try obtained by McMinn and converted by the same player. A match was played on the Masterton Showgrounds on Saturday between teams representing the Hibernian Society on one side, and other Friendly Society representatives on the opposing side.' An interesting game eventuated, the result beinr a draw (neither side scoring). Tl. Hibernians had slightly the best ot the play. Mr C. J. MacKellar was referee. A collection - was taken up at the gate in aid of the funds of the Hospital. The Masterton Pipe Band played selections prior to, at, and after the match. ASSOCIATION GAME.
