STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd , report as follows: —We held a very good sale at Carterton, on account of Mr A. W. Jones, whose horses and plant were offered for public auction at the Camp yesterday. Although the attendance was not altogether a representative one as far as farmers and contractors were concerned, a good crowd turned up, and bidding was very brisk throughout. Mr Jones can be congratulated, as his horses were turned out in good condition, in spite of being in hard work for the last five months—trying to complete a contract with the Carterton Borough Council—against all sorts of weather. We quote as follows; —Bay gelding "Tiger," £54 10s; roan gelding "Roany," £62; bay gelding "Bob," *52; bay mare "Rose," £SO; bay gelding "Sam," £42 10s; black gelding "Ben," £45; bay gelding "Paddy," £37 10s; black mare "Nell," £4O; chestnut gelding "Sandy," £4O; bay gelding "Toby," £3l; and the whole offering, being too numerous to particularise, were sold at full market rates. Implements and sundries brought satisfactory prices.
