JUDGE SIM AND LABOUR UNIONS.

Th i Wellington Cooks and Waiters' Union to-night unanimously refused to endorse the resolutions passed by the Canterbury Trades and Labour Council urging the removal of Mr Justice Sim from the Presidency of the Arbitration Court, and asking support for the petition of the Canterbury Farm Labourers' Union for Mr Sims' removal. DUNEDIN, August 31. A meeting of working men of Dunedin South convened by 'circular to select candidates was thinly attended. Mr Steve Boreham, a well-known Labourers' advocate, submitted a resolution denouncing Mi Justice Sim as an unsafe person to occupy any judical position. Mr Boreham, who acted as chairman, asked the meeting to decide whether he should put the motion to the vote. There was not a single response on either side, and the proposition was consequently dropped.
