FIFTY-THREE PERSONS DROWNED. Received August 30, 4.20 p.m. SINGAPORE, August 29. The steamer Duncan, bound from Ksratsu to Singapore, capsized in a typhoon off Colo Islands Only the third mate and engineer were saved out of a crew of 13 whites and 40 lascars.
