BRITAIN AND GERMANY.
OUTBURST OF OFFICIAL ORGAN. SURPRISE OCCASIONED. BERLIN, August 28. The journal "National Zeitung" declares that the "Young Turkey" movement has increased King Edward's anxieties. The English, says the "Zeitung," are to realise that the efforts to hem Germany in have failed. The French support is insufficient to reduce Germany to impotence. The paper warns Russia against becoming England's catspaw. This outburst of a leading official organ occasions surprise, coming after fine speeches by Germans on the occasion of the visit of the Right Hon. D. Lloyd-George, Chancellor of the Exchequer, to Germany.
BRITISH PRESTIGE IN TURKEY. AMBASSADOR CHEERED. CONSTANTINOPLE, August 28. When Sir Gerard Lowther, British Ambassador, appears in the streets, the crowds cheer England and Turkey.
