FERTILE TAURANGA.
REPORT OP DEPARTMENT OF LANDS.
The Under-Secretay for Lands (Mr W. 0 Kensington) in his last annual report, refers to the Tauranga County as follows: — "As in all parts of the east coast, land here is in great demand, the dairying industry having proved such a great success. The late dry summer has also been a good advertisement for this district, it having withstood the drought better than th« greater portion of the North Island. 'L'here have been a lot of inquiries for Crown lands in Te Papa and Apata Parishes. These lands have! been withdrawn from sale for resurveying and roading, and when opened will find ready sale. The whole of the county is moving ahead, the butter factories having done very well for the season, and the drought and fires having done little damage.'' There is, of course, nothing in the nature of a "puff" in the .report. It is not a statement made by any party interested in booming the district—it is simply the dry, matter of fact, report of the head of a Government Department on a district, which involves administration on the part of his department. A good dairying district, free from drought, and land at. a reasonable price certainly sounds like an El Dorado for the dairy farmer and agriculturist generally. One of the most up-to-date and reliable of the land agency businesses at Taur-. anga is that run by Messrs Colin and Norris, who advertise several desirable properties in this issue.
