j Received August 28, 10.20 a.m. SYDNEY, August 28. The Coal Lumpers' Union refuse to coal the American hospital ship, because their services were not utilised to coal the fleet. EARL DUDLEY. Received August 28, 10.12 a.m. SYDNEY, August 28. The public decorations in the city will be allowed to remain in position for the reception of Lord Dudley, the new Governor-General, on September Bth.
SIGNALS FROM THE SHORE.
Received August 28, 10.20 a.m. SYDNEY, August 28. The f-teamer Willeade'n reports that after she had passed Sydney Island, one of the Phoenix group, on the 12th injtant, signals were made from tne shore. Had they been made earlier, tha ve-ssel would have inquired, but, being short of coal, could not return. The theory here is that the signals may have had some connection with the missing steamer Aeon, but Messrs Lever Brothers, who lease the island, state that their employees are in the habit of signalling vessels in order to obtain newspapers.
A CHAMPION STALLION.
Received August 29, 12.40 a.m. MELBOURNE, August 28. At the Royal Show the New Zealand bred Trentbridge won the first and champion prize in the thoroughbred stallions.
