ARBITRATION COURT.
BY TELSORAPII—PSEHB. ASSOCIATION, WELLINGTON, August 27. At the Arbitration Court to-day, Thomas B Baldwin claimed £3OO from thu Government as compensation for injuries. The question was wnether the man should receive a lump sura or weekly payment. Medical evidence was heard and an order made for payment of £1 4s per week. William Henry Bennett was fined £3 and costs for a breach of the preference clause of th« carpenters' award. A. E. Palmer was fined £2 and costs for employing a non-unionist whan a unionist was available. The Wellington Gas Company was fined .£2 and costs on a similar charge. James Wilson, charged with two breaches of the preference clauses, 'was fined £2 and costs on each charge.
