FLEET SAILS FOR MELBOURNE.
Received August 27, 11.17 a.m. SYDNEY, August 27. The American Fleet has sailed for Melbourne.
Received August 28, 1.5 a.m. SYDNEY, August 27. Several thousand persons wicnessed the departure ot the fleet, which presented an imposing spectacle, and passed close in a single file formation up the harbour and through the heads. About 300 sailors overstayed their leave, and were left behind. Up to to-night most of the stragglers turned up, and were placed aboard the transport Yankton to be taken on to Melbourne. A number have expressed their intention of going overland to Melbourne and seeing the fun there before rejoining the ships and taki-g their gruel.
