The New Zealund Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—At Pahiatua, on Tuesday, we had a good yarding in sheep, and being good a clearance was made. At Masterton the yarding was light, quality generally good, all sound lines in each class finding ready purchasers, aged and faulty evves only failing to sell. In cattle, the entries were mostly dairy stock of rattier inferior quality, only a few lota changing hands. At Pahiatua store wethers ranged from lis 9d to ]2s fid. 2-tooth ewes (empty) lis 2d, ewes in lamb (medium) 9s 6d to 10s 7d ; dairy cows and heifers 40s to 60s. At Masterton, on Wednesday, ewes in lamb 9s 7d to 12s, medium fat.ewes 12s 6d, hoggets (good) 10s, old'ewes 6s. A pen of fat heifers failed to reach owners reserve. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale at Taratahi on Tuesday last. All advertised lots of sheep came forward, and the whole yarding was cleared at very satisfactory rates. A large entry of cattle were yarded, and practically the lot were sold. They also report having held their Masterton sale on Wednesday, when a good yarding wsis ottered of- both cattle and sheep, but business was very slack, owing to sellers ideas of value being too high for buyers They quote for Taratahi—Well grown hoggets lis 7d, medium hoggets 8s lOd to 9s 6d, ewes with lambs 7s 3d to 7s 9d, fat and forward ewes 14s 6d, fat wethers 15j 31 Quotations for Musterton sale are— Medium hoggets 9s 6d to its 3d, good con dition hoggets were passed in at lis 2d, a good line of 2-tooth ewes in lamb were pas-sed at 15s lid. Their next sale at Taratahi will be h Id on Tuesday, September Bth, and Masterton on Wednesday. September 9th.
