AMERICAN ATHLETE 3 AND EXAGGERATED STATEMENTS.
Received August 26, 8 47 a.m. NEW YORK, August 25. Subscriptions towards the reception of the American athletes who took part in the Olympic games only realised £l,ooo—about one-third of the amount require! The poor response is attributed to exaggerated statements as to unfair treatment accorded American athletes who competed at Shepherd's Bush.
