RATS RESPONSIBLE FOR A FIRE.
BY TELKOKAPK —PKF.SB ASSOCIATION. HASTINGS, August 25. Rats proved directly responsible for an outbreak of (ire in the twostoried residence of Mr Morris Mason. Smoke was noticed issuing from a cupboard under the stairs at 8 o'clock, last night, and the fire was promptly subdued. Under lumber was discovered a rat's nest, in which was an ignited box uf wax vestas bearing marks of rats' teeth.
