REV. FATHER KEOGH.

CELEBRATION OF A DOUBLE EVENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 25. The Very Rev. Father Keogh, Rector of St. Patrick's College, celebrated a double event to day, viz., the fiftieth anniversarj of his birth, and the silver jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood. He was entertained at dinner in the afternoon at the College. There was a large and representative gathering, including the Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward), the Minister of Education (Hon. G. Fowlds), the Mayor of Wellington (Hon. T. W. Hislop), Archbishop Redwood, and many other prominent people. At a public gathering in the Town Hall, this evening, Father Keoghjwas presented with a purse containing 320 sovereigns. He said he would dovote the money to the erection of a laboratory at St. Patrick's College to assist in scientific teaching.
